Default WoW account, Craigslist, and Paypal--Scammed?

I've tried 3 times to buy a WoW account on Craigslist, where the seller tried to scam me. They had me pay thru paypal, then claimed that the money wasn't showing up in their account. They would then say, "Oh I know what's going on. There's a glitch in the paypal system..you have to open a dispute and then cancel it. Then the money will show up in my account"PayPal clearly states that if you open a dispute, once you cancel you may not reopen for any reason. Clearly these sellers are trying to get you to do that so that they can scam you and you have no recourse. Has this happened to anyone? How did everything go down? I'm in the process of disputing with PayPal right now.

Do not cancel your dispute for any reason, unless the matter has in fact been resolved.

Gifting (giving), trading and selling accounts is against Blizzards TOS. They have gotten very good at recognizing accounts that have changed hands. Accounts that have been transferred in one of these ways can be banned. Then you would have neither your money or the character you bought.
